Samsung Nigeria Technology Academy (SaNTA)
The Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base (LADOL) has formed a strategic partnership with Samsung Heavy Industries to establish a state of the art training center that will train Nigerians in performing offshore activities such as underwater & industrial welding, fabrication and integration including floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels.
SaNTA will be a new state-of-the-art training facility, built at LADOL Free Zone; the development of the facility comes after one and half years of planning and pre-investment between the two companies. Samsung’s world class expertise will be matched with LADOl’s extensive experience in Greenfield Nigerian developments to establish a long-lasting partnership that will represent real local content as both Samsung and LADOL will be investing millions of dollars in equipment and man-hour in building the facility, setting up the management team and training programs to train world class graduates.
Seeking Applicants from Across Nigeria
SaNTA will be advertising for applicants from all over the country; those who are successful will be admitted to a 3 to 6 months training program, upon graduation the successful students will receive globally recognised accreditation empowering them to get work in Nigeria’s growing fabrication industry.
The project is being established to make Local Content a Reality by domesticating jobs in Nigeria through facility creation that MUST be combined with Training which will ensure that Nigerians will benefit fully from the wide spread job creation which will result from Onshore FPSO Integration, as well as other important Local Content Milestones with extensive and diverse training, provided by world class partners such as Samsung.
SaNTA will be working with and consulting the NCDMB along with indigenous Nigerian and international fabricators, engineering and oil companies; graduates from the academy will work in facilities throughout Nigeria and will contribute to increasing the fabrication capacity in existing and new facilities throughout the country, Samsung and LADOL will create at least 10x jobs outside LADOL for every job created inside LADOL.
